You’re An
Isolationist
I’LL JUST DO IT MYSELF.
About the Isolationist:
You are so busy, and you know it! You’ve hired great help to pick up the areas you need support. You’re not afraid to delegate. Except, you have no time to spend onboarding and actually delegating to the capable team at hand.
What You See:
You’re busy with back-to-back meetings and important projects all day long.
Your team is strong and ready to help but doesn’t know what your priorities are.
Your company’s growth is slowed because it lacks prioritizing time for a key exchange of thoughts and information.
How you got here:
You don’t want to ignore your team; you like them! After all, you did hire them. However, you have so many pressing priorities that you tend to each day. Somehow, spending time with your team did not make it onto your priority list. This has created unrealistic expectations around how they can actually help and an unclear vision.
Your Playbook:
First steps:
Commit to routine.
Schedule a standing call/meeting each week or day to be available to your team for questions.
Set a clear agenda of what needs to be accomplished so everyone can come prepared.
Let your team be responsible for running those calls. You just commit to being there and answering questions.
Align on the next steps.
